A Complete Study and Lesson Guide (KJV)
Salvation is the greatest gift ever offered to mankind. Through Jesus Christ, God rescues sinners from sin and its penalty and gives eternal life to all who believe.
WHAT IS SALVATION?
Salvation is God rescuing a sinner from sin and its penalty, and giving them eternal life through Jesus Christ.
“For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” — Luke 19:10 (KJV)
Salvation means being forgiven, made right with God, and given new life.
WHY DO WE NEED SALVATION?
The Problem: Sin
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” — Romans 3:23 (KJV)
“There is none righteous, no, not one.” — Romans 3:10 (KJV)
Every person has sinned.
The Consequence: Death
“For the wages of sin is death…” — Romans 6:23 (KJV)
Sin brings separation from God and eternal judgment.
GOD’S SOLUTION: JESUS CHRIST
God’s Love
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” — Romans 5:8 (KJV)
The Cross
Jesus lived a sinless life, died for our sins, and rose again.
“Christ died for our sins… and… rose again the third day.” — 1 Corinthians 15:3–4 (KJV)
Salvation is not earned — it is provided.
HOW IS A PERSON SAVED?
Not by Works
“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us…” — Titus 3:5 (KJV)
“For by grace are ye saved through faith… not of works…” — Ephesians 2:8–9 (KJV)
You cannot earn salvation.
By Grace Through Faith
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.” — Acts 16:31 (KJV)
Salvation comes by trusting Jesus Christ alone.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BELIEVE?
Belief is more than knowing — it is trusting.
True faith includes understanding, believing, and trusting Christ alone.
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart… thou shalt be saved.” — Romans 10:9 (KJV)
REPENTANCE — A CHANGE OF DIRECTION
Repentance means turning from sin, self, and wrong beliefs to God and truth.
“Repent ye therefore, and be converted…” — Acts 3:19 (KJV)
It is not perfection — it is a changed direction.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU ARE SAVED?
You Are Forgiven
“In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.” — Colossians 1:14 (KJV)
You Are Made New
“If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature…” — 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)
You Are Justified
Declared righteous before God.
Romans 5:1 (KJV)
You Receive Eternal Life
“The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” — Romans 6:23 (KJV)
You Are No Longer Condemned
“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus…” — Romans 8:1 (KJV)
ASSURANCE OF SALVATION
“These things have I written… that ye may know that ye have eternal life.” — 1 John 5:13 (KJV)
Your assurance is based on God’s promise — not your feelings.
